Message from the Chairman of Perbanas, the Indonesian Banks Association.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am very pleased to herewith announce that the Indonesian Banks Association (Perbanas) will once again host and organize the Asia Pacific Conference and Expo (APCONEX) on Banking Technology at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on 9-11 May 2006. When we did the first APCONEX last year, response and participation from bankers, consultants, academics and service & product providers were simply overwhelming.
A special theme has been selected for this year event, namely the “National Banking Technology Architecture”. Alternative architectures and their resource and management implications will be presented and discussed. The challenge put up for APCONEX 2006 is to provide a forum where users, consultants, solution providers and regulators can deliberate over topics such as effective structures, shared services, sustainable operations and resource management. International and local speakers will share their opinion and experience, and attendees can bring forth issues and questions, thus creating effective interactions geared towards meeting challenges and solving problems.
Banking and finance are crucial in improving economic performance in all forms of commerce and industry. In our efforts to speed up economic recovery, banking technology plays an important role. Within this context it is the hope of Perbanas that APCONEX 2006 will provide banking regulators and bankers with alternate solutions with which the Indonesian Banking Architectures (API – Arsitektur Perbankan Indonesia ) will be implemented.
APCONEX 2006 will provide an informative programme covering the latest topics in banking technology as well as providing essential update material for the benefit of a continued learning environment. A three-day exhibition will run concurrently as a value added component to give you a glimpse on the market update of current technology development in the banking and finance sector. In conjunction with the conference, this exhibition will showcase how rapidly technology has developed to meet growing demands from customers for fast, accurate, inexpensive and reliable banking services.
It is my hope that APCONEX 2006 will contribute positively to the development of banking and technology in the Asia Pacific region, particularly to Indonesia . I also hope that it will present an opportunity for open, friendly and productive exchange of information on all aspects of banking technology. Moreover, I wish you a pleasant visit to our vibrant and cultural city of Jakarta , hoping that it will bring you fond memories of our tropical country, of meeting old friends and making new ones.
